Week 2, Day 2

Stomach bug hit me late Tuesday night/Wed AM (12:30A).  The bad news: from 12:30A to 2PM the following afternoon, I hit the shitter 17 times, despite taking 12 Imodium by 3AM.  The good news: I have indoor plumbing; I didn't miss even one time, and there was minimal splashback.  Felt terrible all day, skipped any training.  Thursday was better, but felt so depleted that I skipped training, and just made it out for a nice 2 mile hike.  Still have some GI upset today (Friday), but decided to rub some Mangisil on my achy parts and get to it.

Warmed up with some hip mobility complex, then dug in.

DL: 1x8x225, 315,405/9,385/9
Starting to click.  Drop set was absolutely brutal, but worthwhile: left side showed up as definitely weaker, to the point where I even thought I had misloaded the bar.  The good news is that I didn't notice that on the top work set, so, it's probably a function of work capacity / strength in the left leg / hip / lumbar region.

Seated Rack Press (Chin Height): 1x20xbar,1x10xbar;1x3x95,135,185/9,175/9
These felt good.  No - I mean none - shoulder aches.

Famer Picks: 1x4x225
Just too gassed to do more.

Moving forward on the DL at a good pace.

Visited my neurologist on Thursday.  New drug on board (Lyrica), to help ease the nerve pain.  Theoretically, I won't feel any effects for a week, but something has changed - I dug in pretty hard pulling, no spasms, no pain - I definitely felt like I didn't have to hold back.  While I hate to get my hopes up, I'm really hoping that I'm moving in a good direction now.
